The Steamboat Era Museum is located in Irvington on the Northern Neck of Virginia. It is about 3 hours from Washington, DC, 1 and 1/4 hours from Richmond, and 1 and 1/2 hours from Norfolk.

Directions from the North - Washington, DC; Baltimore
Take Interstate 95 to exit 126 to US 17 South to Tappahannock.
Turn left onto Route 360 East at the second stoplight.
Cross the Rappahannock River and continue to Warsaw.
Pass through Warsaw and bear right before a traffic light onto Route 3 East to Kilmarnock.
Entering Kilmarnock, go to the fourth stoplight and turn right onto Route 200 South, Irvington Road.
Go approximately 4 miles into Irvington and turn right onto Route 634, King Carter Drive.
The Steamboat Era Museum is on the right just past the bank.

Directions from the West - Richmond
Take Interstate 64 East to Exit 220 onto Route 33 toward West Point.
Proceed through West Point and continue on Route 33 about 10 miles.
At the traffic light, turn left onto US 17/Route 33 North and proceed about 2 miles.
Bear right into Saluda.
Drive through Saluda-slowly-to the intersection with the traffic light.
Take a right at the traffic light toward Deltaville on Rt. 33.
Go 6 or 7 or so miles on Rt. 33 and be looking for the lefthand turn onto Rt. 3 toward White Stone and Kilmarnock.
Take that lefthand turn onto Rt. 3 and stay on that several miles and cross the Rappahannock River Bridge.
Stay on Rt. 3 for several miles into White Stone to the traffic light at Rt. 200.
Take a left at the traffic light onto Rt. 200 toward Irvington and drive 2 miles.
Curve around to the right on Rt. 200 to the main intersection in Irvington.
Turn left onto Route 634, King Carter Drive.

The Steamboat Era Museum is on the right just past the bank.

Directions from the East - Norfolk; Newport News
Take Interstate 64 West to exit 258 onto US 17 North to Saluda. Continue as above.
